David Cabral, MD
Swisher Internal Medicine is pleased to have added David Cabral, MD to its staff in February, 2008. Dr. Cabral moved to Hickory with his wife and three children from Brooklyn, New York, where he lived for 25 years.
He attended the pre-med program at City College of City University of New York. He returned to his native country to enroll at INTEC School of Medicine, the most prestigious medical school in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Cabral subsequently completed his Internal Medicine residency at Woodhull Medical Center, part of the North Brooklyn Health System, where he was named Intern of the Year and offered the position of chief resident. Searching for the perfect balance of family, life, and career, he is excited to have found Hickory, NC.
Dr. Cabral is currently practicing out-patient Internal Medicine at our office, full-time. He wanted to pursue a work environment that would be conducive to establishing lasting relationships with his patients. His genuinely caring nature, along with his clinical acumen, has made him a highly sought-after physician in the community.
He cares for patients with chronic medical problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, emphysema, thyroid disease, hypercholesteremia, and more. He also performs physicals, and deals with acute illnesses like sinusitis, bladder infections, skin lesions, colds/flu, and sports injuries. Dr. Cabral also offers a Weight Loss Program service which utilizes medications and HCG injections when appropriate. He is accepting Medicare and most insurances.
